Beneath the surface collection

The Beneath the Surface collection explores the textures, structures and hidden formations that exist beneath the visible surface of the natural world. Inspired by geological landscapes and the layers revealed within rock and earth, the jewellery is shaped through carving, chiselling and texturing processes that create depth and sculptural form.

Surfaces are cut, fractured and built up to reveal crevices, ridges and voids, echoing the way natural forces expose what lies beneath the surface over time. Precious gemstones are often embedded within these textured structures, appearing like mineral deposits discovered within the rock itself.

Across the collection, variations in surface treatment — from deep textured forms to carved and molten structures — create a cohesive language of material exploration, depth and discovery.

Beneath the surface deep textured silver and rough sapphire ring with gold plated accents

Deep textured ring

Deep textures and rugged surfaces evoke the hidden landscapes found beneath the earth's surface. Handcrafted in sterling silver, these rings feature cast-in-place gemstones that appear as though they have been revealed from within the metal itself.

Textured molten forms

Flowing contours and organic textures reflect the movement of molten material as it cools and solidifies. Cast in sterling silver, each piece captures a sense of movement of molten metal while retaining a sculptural and tactile quality.

Beneath the surface | Chiselled silver and green oval sapphire ring

Chiselled ring

Bold chiselled textures create the impression of weathered rock shaped over time by natural forces. Contrasting rugged surfaces and precious gemstones combine to create rings rich in character, depth and tactile appeal.

Beneath the surface | textured inner surface silver and pink sapphire ring

Textured inner surface

Hidden textured interiors reveal an unexpected layer of detail beneath the surface. Gemstones appear nestled within carved recesses, creating a sense of discovery and drawing the eye deeper into the form.

Eroded Forms

The Eroded Forms collection explores the effects of time, weather and natural forces on the landscape. Inspired by the rugged coastlines and rock formations of Cornwall, each piece begins as a solid block of wax that is carefully carved and shaped by hand. Cavities, openings and irregular surfaces emerge through the making process, creating jewellery that explores the relationship between mass and void.

Cast in recycled sterling silver and gold, the collection combines sculptural form with tactile surfaces. Gemstones are positioned within the carved structures, appearing as though they have been uncovered from within the rock itself. The resulting pieces invite exploration, revealing new details and perspectives from every angle.

Striated Forms

Striated Forms is inspired by the layered textures and natural patterns found within rock formations shaped by geological forces over time. Created using the Mitsuro Hikime wax process, the collection develops distinctive flowing striations that cannot be fully controlled, allowing the material to influence the final form.

The resulting jewellery combines movement, texture and sculptural form. Twisted and folded surfaces create changing lines and shadows that draw the eye around each piece, while the tactile quality encourages touch and interaction. Cast in recycled precious metals, each design celebrates the beauty of natural pattern, creating jewellery that feels both organic and contemporary.

Bobble Style Collection

Inspired by the formation of water droplets, this collection explores the relationship between smooth surfaces and clustered organic forms. Individual wax droplets are applied by hand before casting, creating jewellery with texture, movement and tactile appeal. No two pieces are ever exactly alike.
